House Cleaning Checklist

house cleaning checklist provides tasks for each room and area of the houseKeeping a household organized requires establishing a routine that encompasses meal planning, keeping track of family members’ whereabouts, and maintaining cleanliness. To promote a healthy and clean environment, it is necessary to perform cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis. We will be sharing our monthly house cleaning checklist over the next few weeks, as we believe these tasks are particularly challenging to keep up with.

Our monthly house cleaning checklist provides tasks for each room and area of the house. We welcome feedback and suggestions on other tasks that could be included, as we are continuously updating and reviewing our lists.

For example, in the bathroom, we recommend wiping down the insides of medicine cabinets, while in the bedroom, we suggest laundering duvet covers, mattress pads, shams, and flipping mattresses. In closets, we suggest organizing shelves, dusting shelves and storage bins, and vacuuming floors and baseboards. In the kitchen, we recommend cleaning the refrigerator, discarding expired food from the freezer, and organizing the pantry and cabinets. In the living room, we suggest vacuuming the fireplace screen. In utility spaces, we recommend vacuuming the floors and wiping down the insides and outsides of trash and recycling bins. Throughout the house, we suggest dusting portable and ceiling fans, flushing drains with vinegar, boiling water, and baking soda, vacuuming window treatments and windowsills, wiping down interior and exterior doors and trim, changing or cleaning the filters on heating and cooling systems, and cleaning light fixtures.
