Replacement of a toilet calls for proper measurements and it is a good idea to start with wall where it is fixed and take measurements up to centre of bolts found at the toilet’s bottom. If there are 4 bolts then the measurement should be taken from bolts located at back of toilet. The standard measurement is between eleven inches to thirteen inches which might not be the case with all toilets. In that case, a new toilet needs to be bought and the bowl shape should also be considered.
After turning off water supply, the tank for the toilet needs to be emptied through flushing. The screws need to be taken out for separating tank from toilet bowl. First, the bolt caps need to be unscrewed and after that the nuts. By cutting base caulking, toilet bowl can be taken out and the residues need to be cleaned properly.
